Palpable Purpura

Palpable Purpura: It is important to look for rashes in the legs as well. Posterior view of legs showing classic rash of small vessel vasculitis ie. Palpable purpura (note that it tends to be seen only in dependent areas- inflamed vessels leak blood out into tissues- occurs where hydrostatic pressure is greatest).
